ABS OPTION ON ALL HARLEY-DAVIDSON TOURING AND VRSC MODELS
Enhanced Braking Offered While Preserving Distinctive Harley-Davidson Styling

MILWAUKEE (July 9, 2008) – Harley-Davidson will offer an optional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) on all 2008 VRSC and Touring models. By providing maximum braking effort without uncontrolled wheel lock-up, ABS is designed to help the rider maintain consistent control during emergency stopping situations, especially those that happen in less than ideal conditions.

This advanced ABS is designed to work in conjunction with the Brembo-designed disc brakes on VRSC and Touring models. The ABS provides light lever feedback during ABS events to alert the rider to unstable braking conditions. Unlike many motorcycle anti-lock systems, Harley-Davidson ABS is a manual, independent system, meaning the rider maintains full, independent control of how much of each brake is applied. The components of the Harley-Davidson ABS have been designed and packaged to be virtually invisible, preserving the clean custom styling of the area around the wheels.

Harley-Davidson ABS will be offered as a factory-installed option on all Touring and VRSC models. The same system will replace the previous ABS offered on select Police FL models. ABS is standard equipment on the 2008 FLHTCUSE3 CVO Screamin' Eagle Ultra Classic Electra Glide and FLHRSE4 CVO Screamin' Eagle Road King, and also standard on the 2008 FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide 105th Anniversary Edition model.
