Happy New Year 2010!by Luuezz on 2010-01-01 11:17:40 Remove Preview Blog from Luuezz I've been way busy and tired and not feeling well lately. So needless to say the computer has not been on my radar much! It’s almost time to bring in the New Year 2010. That means a couple things for me first; I will need to cut back on saying “No” more often than not. Second, with that being said I will need to increase my exercise. Due to medication for my elbow that needs surgery this year, the medication has caused me to gain a lot of weight in the past year. As of today I have lost 20 lbs & counting & no longer take those medications. It’s a little tradition that I have each year to myself. Along with my yearly tradition, I get to reflect on the past year. I loved 2009 for so many reasons. It was my first trip to California to finally meet Beej owner of RumbleNews and his family. I had the opportunity to stay with his Mother in her awesome loft home that Beej & his sons built by hand. Truly an unbelievable imagination and hand craft that Beej processes! While I was in California, I rented a car and toured the entire state of California for one week. Each one of my days was adventures to last a lifetime. I went to see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Madonna Inn, Trinidad Beach, I rode highway #1, what beautiful scenery and hairy, windy, twisty roads that will make your ass pucker!!! The Tail of the Dragon is “nothing” compared to highway #1. I experienced the subway in San Fresco, I experienced the Sierra Mountains, and I experienced the Giants of the Redwoods, something everyone must see, truly of gift from GOD! I experienced a control fire in Yosemite National Park that got out of control and burned over 9,000 acres, I was trapped and all three roads to exit the park where closed and learned what it is like to actually see a raging wildfire , while I stood just aces away of over 100 degrees right in the front of your eyes in August. I experienced meeting the orginal Lester Chambers from The Chamber Brothers Band of the 60’s Woodstock era . Charlie Bretchel from BikersInnerCircle gave me one of my greatest opportunity’s to interview Lester. I had the experience to stay at Charlie & Sabrina’s residence with their talented three children in sports. I drove 1847 miles in that one week of sightseeing and “never” left the state of California! Wow, what a privilege to share these experiences with each one of you. 2010 will be another year with more adventures. I don’t know what kind of adventures I will have yet, but I could not imagine having a better audience of bikers to share these adventures with. I will have a Total Elbow replacement surgery on my left elbow in June this year. Not something I want in life however I have no other choices but to follow through with it or fuse my left arm in a permanent position for the rest of my life. I need your prayers that I will ride again and my body accepts the prosthetics. Thank You. Dear bikers, readers and casual observers, Over the months that I've been editor, I've been very proud of the work output we've had as a site, from both staff and users. I'd like to give my thanks to everyone I've worked with, if you're reading: Beej and Seth. Finally, and most importantly, all of us at WWW.RUMBLENEWS.COM would like to thank all of you readers and contributors who supported our site, our writing, and made it into a community. After all, that is the essence of sites like BIKERS: the community. We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. Sincerely, Luuezz |
