Berdoo Bikes and Blues 08

Old School comes back to Berdoo

There are many opinions as to where the chopper as we know it was born. I'm not even going to get into that. It was actually born in the backstreet garage of America with a creative eye and a good wrench. But San Bernardino, CA and the Inland Empire in general has given birth to many a fine ride.

This was the inaugural event. I have no stats as of yet however, I would say it was a good turnout. The San Bernardino Fire Dept. was the driving force and a portion of the proceeds went to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center's Edward G. Hirschman Burn Center. So, it had a good cause, it had some very nice bikes, good music and from what I saw, people having a good time. Here's some of them.

Riders were coming and going all day.

There were builders here in force. Big Bear Choppers brought their rig. Our Friends at 909 Choppers were there and took a few awards. Including 1st place in the Softail division. Mike, of Lucky 7 Motorsports took home 2nd in the custom division.

There is a group of guys dedicated to the restoration and preservation of original Denvers choppers. Kayelynn took home 2nd place in the Old School div. Not all the cool bikes were in the show. Many were ridden in. Check out this bad boy sittin' on the ground. I saw this bike in Laughlin last week. This fellow gets around.  Set the air bag to height and ride off.

There were interesting vendors. I hope they did well and there should be more next year. The Ladies from Mommy Inc. were there. They have some really cool kids clothes ... with an edge. MotorCult has shirts and Sinners Forgiven has a message. They also have a car and bike show in Yucaipa June 21st.

One thing I didn't see was any trouble. There were colors from several different clubs and not one of them seemed to be interested in anything except having a good time. The "Beer Pens" were the only place you could drink and I saw nothing out of the ordinary there. .... Except for this little family brawl. It was in fun and nobody even paid any attention.

The boys in blue had nothing to do. And on one of the stages, Ms. Charlie Jene' sang the blues. The Intense creations Lady is .... intense and here's an awesome ... blue bike.

The Milfman ladies were hanging .... quite nicely. This BIG bike, didn't seem to attract much attention. What you always want when you're on the dyno. Your wife ... urging you on. "Rev it honey!" That fellow on the right, took home Best of Show. I'll get you a name soon.

Sanbernardino Fire. These guys worked their butts off for a good show.

I do believe this event has the potential to grow, becoming the sister event to the Route 66 Rendezvous, Sept. 18-22. It too began small and over time has become a major event for the SoCal region.

Now, I have a lot of pictures to go through, re-size and post. Plus I have to get my notes together so I know who's who. I will come back, update this page and put up another gallery . Check back later. Never know, you may see yourself. .......Beej
