Big Bear, California.

 

Big Bear California is a real nice place to ride in June. So Cal in the summer gets hot. When it does, you want to be at the beach or the mountains. Fortunately either one is only an hour's ride away.

I happen to live 9 miles from Big Bear ... as the crow flies. But, it's 45 miles up a winding 2 lane to get there. A very nice 2 lane I might add. Thanks to the fact that California likes tourism and if they want you to go somewhere, they will give you a good road to get there!

For the past 5 years,  Big Bear Choppers has hosted a run called "Ride the Mountain". These guys have designed a very nice line of bikes and produce complete kits.

Now, I'll be honest with you, I went for the ride. I didn't go to report on this run or promote this magazine .... I just went for the ride. Turned out it was a real fun time. Lotsa awesome bikes .... many vendors with cool stuff .... good food ... lotsa beautiful women ... but I just went for the ride. Here's some pics.

 

 

 

 

As you can see, some of the paint on these bikes is incredible. And then some just were covered in leather.

Even the younger riders had a great time.  Her brother was behind Mom.

 

 

And the crowd of 8 year olds constantly gathering around this little chopper made it really hard to get a pic.

 

In all it was a great time, a good ride and next year I'll take more time to get info.
