Portraits of Chrome

It's early in the morning. Sun won't be up for a while. Rain is steady and not expected to let up for 500 miles. I scoff at the black sky and throw my leg over the saddle of my Road King. The grin sets in and I head down the road, off on another adventure .......... no .... wait a minute, that's not me. Quite honestly, I'm a bit too wimpy to set off on a journey of 1450 miles under those conditions with such wild abandon and enthusiasm. I'd be crying like a baby and trying to rearrange schedules and ....... me? No, that's ...... Luuezz throwing her leg over the saddle of that RoadKing I was cruising the internet recently and ran across some of the coolest pictures and artwork I've seen in a while. Only after researching the author did I realize the depth of this artist's passions. Luuezz is not only passionate about art, she has been riding
for 28 years and has logged over 250,000 miles on a Harley. "The total
independence of being a true woman biker who is not afraid to take the chance to
ride it alone on a bike herself. I will never have the thoughts as I grow old
saying I wish I had done this or that. I'm doing everything I want to do. I hope
one day I am a mentor to all the woman out there that You Can Do It. There once
were Cowgirls, today there are some of us of that same breed still out there,
we are called Woman Bikers!" Harley Davidson is not only a focus of her life it is also a focus
of her art. She has logged several cross country solo trips and will stay on
the road for weeks at a time capturing her Portraits Of Chrome.
Luuezz currently has photos on display in a Gallery Exhibit Show in Frisco, Texas at the Frisco City Hall. Soon the photos will go on the road with a Traveling Gallery Exhibit. Luuezz has won awards on her photography artwork and has several photos that are in the Hall Of Fame from People's Choice. We will also be able have an in-depth look at Luuezz in a book to be released next year, Harley Woman Riders by Hank Somma. When asked what she looks for she states, "I will scan a bike over with my eyes looking for DETAIL DETAIL DETAIL! I'm looking for unique creations in a Harley whether it be a Custom AirBrush Art, Handmade Iron work, Custom/Handmade Unique Parts to a radical bike that took the art of hand crafted engineering. It's all about unique detail. I know my Harleys and once I find ones signature displayed in Custom Detail on a motorcycle, my Canon 20D begins shooting" And here are some of the results.
Luuezz also has an appreciation of other artists. "I have a great interest in the custom airbrush paint field and the artists who create art on steel". It has been said, "A picture is worth a thousand words." In Luuezz's eye, a picture is worth more than that. Her portraits capture not only the composition of the moment, they embrace the time and mileage leading up to that moment. The portrait on the lower left, entitled, "Farewell my friend", is a telling story of friendship and brotherhood developed over much time and many miles.
Photo journalism is also on her resume. Luuezz has written stories of her travels for Woman Riders, CycleSource, Bikernet and Motorcycle Memorial Wall, to name a few. And we, here at RumbleNews are honored that Luuezz has graciously accepted our invitation to join the crew. Her assignment is a hefty one. Luuezz is the East Coast Associate Editor and will be not only be covering events and rallies, with her unique view point, she will be taking us on the road with a journal. And look for poignant moments from Luuezz's life as I find her to be very personable and I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know her, as I have.
We'll keep you up to date on her progress and you can see Luuezz's event schedule here. Please visit Luuezz at these sites.
