CAL24 Annual Long Distance
Motorcycle Rally
Raises Thousands of Dollars to Fight Polio
Motorcyclists recently pounded hard miles, and participated in
strange and hilarious events, to raise money to donate to Rotary Club's fight to
eradicate polio. San Jose Firemen riding their Harley Davidsons in competition
with top long distance rally riders from around the USA, were among the
participants in this year's annual CAL24 1,000 miles in
24 hours rally. With a focus on the safety of riders and the public, this
fierce competition included brotherhood, guns, hilariously embarrassing events,
motorcycles, beautiful women, and some of the very best long distance riders in
the history of motorcycling! The details and awesome photographs of all the
participants, by Norton Patty and Hans Barnum are coming in and we will be
adding them as time allows
Organizer Tom Melchild and Rally Master Mark Crane at one of
the many events held during the 2008 CAL24 rally that raised more than $5,000 in
donations to Polio Plus's efforts to eradicate polio forever.
