Public Enemy

Check out Rhino's next project sittin' in the wings. This is an original Denvers Chopper built by Freddie Hernandez. Denver Mullins and his partner Mondo Porras began building choppers in 1967. Freddie was one of original builders mentored by Denver. This shop created some of the finest choppers of their day or ours and San Bernardino California has never been the same since. Rhino will give you the story behind this acquisition as he begins this rebuild in tribute to Denver. The name itself, Public Enemy is a story to be told. Mondo still continues to build and carry on his tribute to his personal friend and mentor. Check out what he is doing at denverschoppers.com

In the Beginning

  1. Camping out at the Wig Wam on route 66
  2. in hunt for the last Denvers HONDA chop.

UPDATE 2 March 08

This is a 1972 Honda 750cc power plant punched out to 836cc ..hot custom ground cam. Two very large Dellorto carbs, kick/elect combo fresh rebuild with 0 miles . Remember this motor put so much fear in riders that they retired and gave up riding.......So move over rover RHINOS taking over..............everybody sing!  Honda Honda go faster faster!

UPDATE 3 March 08

Well should I sand this old 70's tank or should I strip and start new.  That is the Q?  First what you should do is run a magnet over the entire tank and see how much bondo was used to fill out any dents and dings. I decided to strip this ol diamond in the rough since it had the only one paint job and very little filler.  The only way to cut a fine diamond is to do it DOWN RIGHT UPRIGHT!

Rhino got a lot done today. Stripped his tank and got in a round of golf with Jack Nicholson.

This is not Rhino's first Honda project. Check out this one!
